So long Mark.  We will all miss you.  You were a good friend growing up, you taught me a lot.  One of the great track stars to come out of MHS.  So long "Peter Rabbitt."

Mark was probably the best natural athlete in the class of 61, on one of the best,  if not the best track team in the history of MHS.  I first got to know Mark when my parents drove me, before license, to pick up his sister for dates. We enjoyed many fun times both on and off the field.  It was a pleasure to be a teammate and friend.

One fond memory of Mark was when he and I were running a 100 yard dash and at the finish line I was close enough to touch his arm, just to let him I know I wasn't far behind. he was a great track star and a friend!

Mark Tate was perhaps the best athlete in our class and his record for the 220-yard dash may never be broken--at least for a long while.  I was there and there was no question that it was wind-aided and there was one hellova wind that day.  I know; it was at my back for 220 yards of my race in the 440.  I set the school record that day in the quarter mile at 51.0, and that record has long since been broken.  But Mark's 21.3 in the 220 will be there long after we've joined Mark in the next life.  RIP Mark.                      Dick Couch
